Grand Junction, CO - As a reminder, you can find current information about COVID-19 cases and quarantines in our schools on our D51 Data Dashboard. The information is updated on each student contact day.

COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination

As a reminder, testing is still being offered at Grand Mesa Middle School and Fruita Monument High School through COVIDCheck Colorado. The tests are free and open to the public. It’s important that D51 staff and students use this link when registering so our nursing staff has access to current, accurate data: http://primarybio.com/l/d51. Parents and community members can instead use this link to register for a test: http://primarybio.com/l/cdphe.

On Wednesday, we hosted the 10th public meeting over Zoom to discuss potential boundary changes. You can find information about all potential changes by going to d51schools.org and clicking on the Proposed School Boundaries button. The proposed changes are:
The area bordered by Highway 6&50, 25 Road, and either G Road or I-70 may switch from Appleton Elementary, Fruita Middle School, and Fruita Monument High School zoning to Pomona Elementary, West Middle School, and Grand Junction High School boundaries.
Areas zoned for Broadway, Scenic, and possibly part of Wingate Elementary boundaries may switch from Fruita Monument to Grand Junction High School boundaries.
The area between 26 and 27 roads and between I-70 and G Road may move from Pomona boundaries to Tope Elementary School boundaries.
A neighborhood north of Highway 340 west of Broadway Elementary School may be moved from Wingate to Broadway boundaries.

The board will discuss boundaries again at their Feb. 2 work session, which will be broadcast live beginning at 6 p.m. on our Facebook page.

Competitions for winter sports have begun, and we're excited to welcome up to 50 spectators at each home game! Each athlete’s family receives a code that they can use to purchase up to two tickets per game. Tickets are $5, as they have been in the past, and must be purchased online before the game (sales are not available at the door). Attendees must wear masks. We thank you for your patience in these unusual times, and are delighted to be able to offer high school sports as a bright spot in a tough winter for our student athletes!
