Palisade, COPalisade High School is proud to announce that it has been approved to officially host an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP)! PHS has gone through a three-year MYP approval process, including an evaluation from IB representatives in February. International Baccalaureate is a globally recognized education suite of programs focused on personal development and academic rigor. The Middle Years Programme can be used for children ages 11-16 worldwide and provides an inclusive but challenging framework for student learning.

The Middle Years Programme is for all ninth- and tenth-graders at Palisade High. In addition to coursework in eight subjects, all 10th-graders who want to finish the MYP process must complete a personal project. These projects were presented during an exhibition on Monday, March 9, 2020, at the school.

Palisade has already been home to an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme for more than a decade. In the IB Diploma Programme, students apply from across the district to study at PHS and earn both a District 51 diploma and an IB diploma. Rigorous Diploma Programme work takes place in 11th- and 12th-grade and involves a service project focused on community, a lengthy essay, and multiple advanced courses that can earn students college credit. Palisade graduated its first class of IB Diploma Programme scholars in May 2009.
