Maverik's generous donation will go to D51 Nutrition Services and benefit two key programs:
  • Lunch Lizard - The Lunch Lizard fleet of two food trucks and a delivery van take free meals to students in neighborhoods in need each summer to ensure students do not go hungry when school is out. The Lunch Lizard also visits schools without kitchens daily (New Emerson and R-5, pictured here). Donations can help keep the trucks operational and ensure healthy, fresh food keeps coming to kids in the Grand Valley.
  • School Lunch Angel Donor Fund - This fund helps families who are struggling to pay for school meals. Donations go directly to accounts of families with school meal accounts that have a severely high balance.
The donation is one of three Maverik is sharing with schools in the mountain region, and the only one in Colorado.
