justin simmonsGrand Junction, CO - Denver Broncos safety Justin Simmons chatted with Fruita Middle School students Monday, Dec. 16, about fitness, nutrition, his favorite things about working in the NFL, and his favorite breakfast food (anything with eggs).

Students of Kelli Thompson and Michelle Thomas at Fruita Middle School participated in a conference call with Simmons on Monday morning as a reward for submitting a winning Greek yogurt blueberry muffin recipe in the Fuel Up to Play 60 Milk It! recipe contest. In addition to the call, they get a $2500 prize for the FMS cafeteria and a breakfast celebration in 2020.

In addition to Fruita's prizes, all D51 elementary and middle schools are getting refrigerated display cases for muffins and yogurt in their cafeterias from Fuel Up to Play 60, as well as equipment to make smoothies at the middle schools.
