Grand Junction, CO – SkillsUSA medal winners from the Career Center celebrated their wins at the state-level SkillsUSA competition and the school's Penny War win among Colorado schools with SkillsUSA programs today, Oct. 1, 2018, by  throwing pies at Principal Cam Wyatt and teacher Carol Cooper at the Career Center at 2935 North Ave.

At Monday’s celebration, three Career Center students received the four gold medals they collectively earned at the 2018 SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference earlier this year in Colorado Springs. Two more students will receive silver and bronze medals.

Skills USA is a national association for middle school, high school, and college students interested in trade, technical, and skilled service careers.

Though earned in the spring, the medals themselves were not ready until this summer and students have not yet seen them.

* Nathaniel Doty (Silver - Power Equipment Tech)
