Grand Junction, CO – Appleton Elementary School has a new way to continue student learning after early release each Wednesday. This month, the school became the second building in District 51 to offer BeLingual Kids – a bilingual learning program that helps students learn Spanish early in life.

More than 60 students are participating in the program this year. Learners are split into two sessions each Wednesday – one at 2 p.m. and the other at 2:45 p.m.

Parents pay $50 each to the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, which uses the money for an entire year of BeLingual sessions. Wingate Elementary also offers BeLingual programming through parent support.
