Welcome to District 51

Emergency Alert

December 6, 2019

11:55 a.m. The Math Building and the Art Building at Grand Junction High School were temporarily evacuated today, Dec. 6, 2019, as a precaution while crews work to repair a minor leak in an underground gas pipe between the buildings. Gas service to both buildings is turned off during the repair, which means there will be no heat in either building for the time being. While some classes may be relocated to other parts of campus due to the heat being off, it has been determined that it is safe for students and staff to return to the buildings and have classes there. GJHS does not anticipate having to close school early today.

11:25 a.m. Bookcliff Middle School is returning to regular operations.

10:32 a.m. Bookcliff Middle School is in Shelter in Place due to law enforcement activity in the area. Please avoid the area and do not contact the school. Updates will be posted here as they become available.
