The Audiology Department within District 51 plays a pivotal role in ensuring the comprehensive well-being of students by addressing auditory needs. Hearing Screenings and Evaluations
D51 Audiology provides hearing screenings from birth to 21 years of age and full hearing evaluations from 6 months to 21 years of age.These services are provided at NO COST to Mesa County residents. If you are in need of a hearing screening or evaluation, please call 970-254-5407.
In accordance with Colorado state statute C.R.S. 22-1-116, vision and hearing screenings will be conducted during each school year for students in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th grades. Screenings may also be conducted for students of other ages if referred by a teacher or staff member. Each school maintains records of all screenings, and parents or guardians will be notified if any deficiencies are found.
