Goals of a Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers Program:

  • To prevent crimes from being committed through awareness education
  • To reduce victimization resulting from criminal acts
  • To create an awareness of crimes being committed on the school campus
  • To assist in solving crimes through Crime of the Week announcements
  • To promote caring and pride through student involvement
  • To provide leadership through community involvement

  • What is the Mesa County Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers? The Mesa County Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers program is a partnership between Crime Stoppers of Mesa County, the schools, law enforcement agencies, the community, and local media. The program allows each school to establish a procedure for reporting information anonymously. The Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers Program is the prevention portion of the AIM on a safe school environment.
  • Who is Mesa County Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers? Each participating school establishes a student run board with school staff serving as advisors. Each school establishes an executive board which is part of the student-scholastic team.
  • Where is Mesa County Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers? The Student-Scholastic Crime Stoppers Program is available to all middle and high schools in Mesa County Valley School District. There is currently a functioning or newly formed student team at all District #51 middle and high schools.
