Career & College Readiness

District 51 has many ways for students to learn about themselves, explore careers, engage in career readiness, and prepare for next steps after graduation.

Making the most out of the opportunities that are available starts with an ICAP (Individual Career & Academic Plan).  An ICAP is a plan that a student creates and refines, but more importantly, a process by which a student learns about their interests, strengths, and skills, and uses what they know to explore the world of careers.  As students begin to hone in on a career path that fits what they are passionate about, they can then make an informed and intentional plan to take advantage of academic, career, and college courses and programming that District 51 offers.
