Board of Education

Engage, Equip, and Empower
each and every student, each and every day.

Our Board of Education is comprised of five members, who are elected to four-year terms by voters within School District 51's boundaries. The Board members establish philosophy, policy and guidelines to ensure equal educational opportunities for all District 51 students. At all times our Board guides us and keeps us focused on student learning.

The Board of Education meets twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday at 5:00 pm. Variations to this schedule may occur, and Special Meetings may be scheduled as determined by the President of the Board. Please click on the Meeting Agendas & Minutes link on this page to view meeting dates, agendas and minutes. Meetings are held in the Harry Butler Board Room located at 455 N 22nd St, Grand Junction, CO 81501.

Comprising dedicated community leaders, educators, and advocates, the Board of Education plays a pivotal role in shaping policies, setting priorities, and ensuring accountability within our district. With a steadfast commitment to the academic success and well-being of every student, the Board collaborates closely with administrators, staff, families, and stakeholders to foster a culture of excellence, achievement, and innovation. Through transparent communication, thoughtful decision-making, and a deep understanding of the diverse needs of our school community, the Board of Education serves as a cornerstone of governance, driving positive change and empowering students to reach their full potential.
