Grand Junction, CO – The public is invited to two upcoming groundbreaking ceremonies for school gym construction projects funded by a Bond Measure approved by Mesa County voters in 2017. The groundbreakings are:

  • Thursday, May 24, 2018, at 8 a.m. at Palisade High School
  • Friday, May 25, 2018, at 8 a.m. at Dual Immersion Academy

Palisade High School Gym Groundbreaking

The new auxiliary gym project at Palisade High School will begin this summer and is scheduled to finish in January 2019. The project will include installing a new gym, as well as new locker rooms, new restrooms, and a new training room on the southeast side of the school. The 2017 Bond Measure set aside $5 million for this project, which is being managed by the Blythe Group, designed by Chamberlin Architects and constructed by Asset Engineering Limited, all of Grand Junction.

Palisade High School is located at 3679 G Road in Palisade. The groundbreaking will take place next to the trailer, outside of the fence.

Dual Immersion Academy Gym Groundbreaking

Dual Immersion Academy opened in its 552A W. Main St. location in 2005 without a gym. The school will get a gym – scheduled to open in January 2019 – thanks to a $5 million bond project. The construction project will entail building an addition that connects Dual Immersion to the Riverside Educational Center next door. The addition will include a gym, a new cafeteria, and a music room.

The groundbreaking ceremony will take place in the green area between Riverside Educational Center and Dual Immersion. The project joining the two buildings is being managed by the Blythe Group, designed by Chamberlin Architects and constructed by PNCI Construction, all of Grand Junction.
